2010 ANNUAL EQUINE
SYMPOSIUM

Presenting Over 110
CE Hours
September 22nd -
26th, 2010 Groton,
Connecticut
The NEAEP is proud
to present the 2010 Annual Symposium. We
are very excited about this year's program,
which is guaranteed to provide new and
insightful lectures from nationally- and
internationally-renowned speakers. The
addition of interactive, panel-based discussion
sessions throughout our program will keep
participants truly involved in this continuing
education experience. The Lameness &
Performance Program will focus on clinical
case-based discussion, on a variety of topics
from the latest in intra-articular and
intralesional therapies to maximizing diagnostic
capabilities and imaging choices. This
program is complemented by the Ultrasound
Wet-Lab which will give participants not only
the opportunity to have an amazing hands-on
experience but individual attention guided by
ultrasonographers.
The Reproduction
Program will be highlighted by both interactive
panel-based discussions and case report-based
discussions to focus on clinically applicable
information. The Reproduction
Wet-Lab will allow participants unique hands-on
experience with a variety of reproductive
techniques guided by Board Certified
Theriogenologists. The Internal Medicine
Program will cover a wide array of topics on
infectious and non-infectious disease processes,
designed to allow the practitioner to take
clinically-applicable information directly back
to their practice setting. In addition to
updates on endocrinological diseases commonly
encountered in the horse, a special section of
this program will focus on nutrition in both the
well and sick horse to optimize athletic
performance and recovery from injury and
illness.
This year’s Annual
Symposium program is being expanded in many
ways, including the addition of a specific
program designed for veterinary technicians and
assistants. The Vet-Techs and Assistants
Program includes an exceptionally well-rounded
group of speakers including both registered
veterinary technicians and veterinarians
discussing a wide range of topics over a full
day and a half of lectures. This will then
be followed by an exciting wet-lab opportunity
for veterinary technicians and assistants to
increase their skill levels in a unique hands-on
experience provided at the Mystic Valley Hunt
Club. This program is being offered in
conjunction with the American Association of
Equine Veterinary Technicians and Assistants
(AAEVT), an educational partner of the NEAEP.
